Privacy

Your data, in plain English.

Guidepost's whole pitch is that you can trust what we tell you. That has to start with how we treat your data. Here's the honest version: short enough to actually read.

The short version

  • Your data is never used to train AI models.
  • We don't sell your data or share it with advertisers. Ever.
  • This website uses no third-party trackers and no cookies that identify you. The one cookie we set remembers which campaign brought you here (nothing about who you are) and only if you arrive through a tagged link.
  • Each business’s product data lives in its own isolated database, encrypted in transit and at rest.
  • Want anything we hold shown or deleted? Email hello@getguidepost.ai and we’ll do it.

What this website collects

If you join the early-access list: your email, plus whatever optional details you choose to add (business name, the tools you use). If you arrived through a tagged link we also record the campaign tag (e.g. utm_source), so we know which channel works. We store a salted, one-way hash of your IP address (never the address itself), purely to rate-limit form abuse.

The campaign cookie: landing here through a tagged link sets one first-party cookie (gp_attr) so the campaign tag survives if you read a few pages before signing up. It holds the campaign labels, the page you landed on, and the date (no identifier of any kind). It is never shared with anyone, and expires after 30 days. Arrive without a tagged link and no cookie is set at all.

Page statistics: we count visits ourselves, in aggregate: page, day, and the referring site. The counters use no cookie, no fingerprinting, no advertising pixel, and keep no record tied to you as an individual visitor.

Email: joining the list triggers two emails: a welcome note to you and a notification to us. Replying “stop” (or emailing us) removes you from the list.

What the product collects (early access)

When you connect your tools, Guidepost reads business records from them: jobs, invoices, customers, campaigns, and ad spend from Jobber or Housecall Pro, QuickBooks, and your ad accounts. Connections are read-only: Guidepost cannot edit, create, or delete anything in your source systems.

That data is used for exactly one thing: producing your digests and answering your questions. It lives in a database that belongs to your business alone (not a shared pool with other customers), and is encrypted in transit and at rest. When AI is used to phrase an answer, your data is processed to generate that answer and is not used to train any model.

Who else touches it

We run on a small set of infrastructure providers, each processing data only to provide their service to us: Cloudflare (website hosting and the waitlist database), Resend (sending email), AWS (product infrastructure and AI processing, in-account), and Auth0 (product login). Your source systems (Jobber, Housecall Pro, QuickBooks, ad platforms) remain governed by their own policies.

What we never do

  • Sell or rent your data, or share it for advertising.
  • Train AI models on your business data.
  • Put identifying cookies, third-party trackers, or third-party analytics on this site.
  • Keep data we no longer need.

Retention and your choices

Waitlist information is kept until you ask off the list. Product data is kept while you use Guidepost; if you leave or ask us to delete it, we remove it from live systems promptly and it ages out of backups on a short schedule. To see, correct, or delete anything we hold, email hello@getguidepost.ai; a person (Rob) answers.

Changes

If this policy changes in a way that matters, we’ll update this page and the date at the top, and if you’re a customer, we’ll tell you directly. Questions: hello@getguidepost.ai.
